Last week Brooklyn-based KelSo announced they’ve canned 1,000 cases of their excellent Pilsner, making them the only craft brewer currently canning beer in NYC. Iron Heart Canning, the mobile canning company they hired to do the job from KelSo’s Clinton Hill headquarters, counts the ways they believe drinking beer in cans is superior to bottles. They make a very convincing argument. Below are 7 (of the many) other canned beers we love to drink.

Westbrook Gose

This salty, sour, but incredibly drinkable wheat beer is transforming many drinkers into sour beer lovers.

Ballast Point Old Sculpin

Featuring a lighter body and bright apricot, mango and lemon flavors, this IPA won a gold medal at the World Beer Cup 2010 in the International Pale Ale.

Founders All Day IPA

“Keeping your taste satisfied while keeping your senses sharp.” With 4.7 abv, this is our go-to for day drinking.

Cigar City Jai Alai IPA

The citrus and floral notes are a nice balance for the hops in this delicious IPA.

Oskar Blues Ten Fidy

Clocking in at 10.5% abv (hence, ten fidy) this incredibly rich imperial stout features notes of chocolate, caramel, and coffee. A nice replacement for (or addition to) dessert.

Six Point Autumnation

Made with a new selection of fresh harvested wet-hops each year (chosen by Six Point fans), this year’s is Mosaic. The result is an fresh, hoppy ale with notes of citrus and pine.

Alchemist Heady Topper

With limited distribution, we’re thrilled every time we find it. A hop head’s Heaven.
