Drinkwise is an evidence-based not-for-profit research and social change organisation that is funded by the Australian alcohol industry. The Drinkwise board is chaired by The Hon. Trish Worth who also serves as a member on the Australian National Preventative Health Agency Advisory Council and as a member of the Board of Management of the National Centre for Education and Training on Addiction.
Drinkwise has released a number of reports and launched significant social marketing campaigns, including ‘Kids Absorb Your Drinking’ in 2008 and ‘Kids and Alcohol Don’t Mix’ in 2009.
The New Zealand Equivalent, Cheers!, is managed by the industry-funded social change initiative The Tomorrow Project. Cheers! provides information and resources aimed at encouraging the responsible use of alcohol.
