Over the weekend we joined the beer-loving masses of Brooklyn (and beyond) in Fort Greene for The Village Voice’s third annual craft beer tasting event: The Brooklyn Pour.

Under the huge vaulted ceiling of the iconic One Hanson Place (former home to The Williamsburg Savings Bank and, more recently, The Brooklyn Flea) we tried beers from a ton of craft breweries — many representing from New York: Barrier, SingleCut, Brooklyn, Sixpoint, Rockaway, 508, Queens, Shmaltz, Kelso, Heartland, Alphabet City, and City Island.

One standout we tasted was the citrusy and super-fresh Barrier Money IPA. (Barrier brews in small batches and they self-distribute, so you’re usually drinking a Barrier beer very soon after it’s been brewed.)

This year’s Pour sold out quickly, so get your tickets early if you want to join in the craft beer goodness next year.
